Re: A Unique Post from a Forum Member

Unread post by ChiefAdmin »

Sometimes a post is so uniquely profound that it warrants the need to be repeated.

Such is with a post from one of our newly registered forum members (SticksandStones);
so this forum Administrator has decided to copy his post here, along with my response to it.

From: SticksandStones
Admin, there is this feeling I have been agonizing over in my inner self for some years ......
your forum on Billy the Kid has brought it to a boiling point! Here it is ........

For some unexplained reason just the mere thought of cowboys conjures up a scene of .......for a lack of better words to describe it ....everything that stands for or defines being a real man.

This coming from a man might prompt someone to think I am gay but that is just not so. I have been straight all my life, but I am for some reason drawn towards the subject of cowboys, hence why I registered as a forum member in hopes that I can find some answers.

Do you have anything to say to me on this?

Response from Forum Administrator:
Hello SticksandStones,

Please excuse the delay in my replying to your post. Normally I do not hesitate to reply quickly to a forum member's post, however yours is one which "demands" a very special consideration and response - one that is befitting and sincere as you strike me as being.
Additionally, the subject matter you have introduced is one which requires careful and considerate analysis, and a detailed answer.

Throughout human history - especially with regard to the expression of "manhood" - there has been countless examples of action, fortitude, and sheer strength of valor, with individuals who have demonstrated bravery and dedication to a "cause" or movement that was prominent at the time.

However, there is something undeniably striking - perhaps even esoteric and unique - about the ability for a cowboy to instill a picture or a sense of bravery, dedication, commitment, and strength of character - while also combined with these traits exhibiting a flare of adventure and romanticism unparalleled by most other individuals.

Since I possess an understanding of the above quite well, I thus can personally relate to what you have stated in your post, and have at least some degree of knowing how you feel emotionally.

I truly hope that this response from me gives you some peace of mind, but just as importantly, prompts an urge in you to share with all of us here at TAB Forum, any future insights that you may have.
You are welcome to post here anytime!

My Best,
ChiefAdmin
